Seaward Services is seeking an Ordinary Seaman for our Hornblower Wind Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) operation off the coast of Norfolk, VA.

About the Opportunity:

Seaward Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced Ordinary Seaman/Seafarer to join the deck crew for our new CTVs servicing wind turbines along the Mid-Atlantic coast. The primary operational area includes the waters around PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, and NC, where you will transport crew, equipment, and cargo to wind farm turbines. Under the guidance of the Captain and Deck Officer, responsibilities include transferring personnel to turbines, mooring operations, vessel maintenance, engine rounds, and aiding in navigation.

Dynamic and variable environments require a certified and focused Ordinary Seaman who can demonstrate sound judgment and caution. You will prioritize safety and help maintain a safe working environment, reflecting company values and codes of conduct.

The role requires availability for a 2-week rotational schedule, including eating, sleeping, and living onboard the vessel. Qualified candidates with the necessary credentials (USCG MMC, Medical, TWIC, STCW training) are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Handle mooring lines during docking and undocking
  • Assist with potable water filling, bunkering, discharging black/grey water, and shore power connection/disconnection
  • Perform tasks as instructed by the Captain or Deck Officer
  • Conduct personnel transfer and cargo operations at sea in all weather conditions
  • Perform lookout duties while underway
  • Assist in cargo operations
  • Conduct vessel cleaning, maintenance tasks, and basic engineering repairs
  • Seek high levels of quality and professionalism
  • Assist in training new crew members
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Maintain vessel integrity for operational readiness
  • Monitor safety of passengers and crew
  • Utilize safety equipment and follow guidelines for hazardous tasks
  • Participate in meetings, training, drills, and safety audits
  • Understand shipboard safety procedures and equipment use
  • Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to MSDSs
  • Report safety, operational, and environmental issues immediately
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential (MMC) with Ordinary Seaman endorsement
  • Valid US Passport
  • Valid TWIC card
  • STCW Basic and Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Offshore Wind – Crew Transfer Vessel experience preferred
  • Excellent career record with professionalism and drive
  • Preferred rigging and engine room experience
  • Salary Range: $200 – $300 per day, depending on experience
