West Bengal Primary TET Notification 2023
Notification No.: 1945/WBBPE/2023 Date: September 13, 2023
In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, an autonomous body established on January 1, 1975, hereby announces the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2023 (Primary) to be held on December 10, 2023 (Sunday) across the state of West Bengal.
Eligibility Criteria for TET-2023
Applicants must possess the following academic and professional qualifications as per the NCTE Notifications dated August 25, 2010, and July 29, 2011:
1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a Diploma in Education (Special Education) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
OR
Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
A 5% relaxation in marks (i.e., 45%) will be allowed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-A and OBC-B), Exempted Category (EC), Ex-Servicemen Category, Differently Abled Category (DAC), and DH (Die-in-harness) category.
2. Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of a 2-year D.EI.Ed. Course from NCTE-recognized institutions or a 4-year B.EI.Ed. Course or a 2-year D.Ed. (Special Education) Course from RCI-recognized institutions on the date of this notification, with pending results, are also eligible.
Note: Candidates achieving minimum eligibility criteria beyond the date of this notification will not be considered for TET-2023.

Language Options:
First Language: Applicants must choose one of the following languages as their first language, based on the medium of instruction in their school: Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Santhali, Oriya, and Telugu.
Second Language: English (mandatory for all).
Qualifying Marks:
To qualify for TET-2023, candidates must score a minimum of 60% of the total marks (150). A relaxation of 5% (i.e., 55%) will apply to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, DAC, EC, Ex-Servicemen Category, and DH Category candidates.
Important Note:
Qualifying in TET-2023 does not guarantee any enforceable legal right for recommendation or appointment as Assistant Teachers in Government Aided/Government Sponsored/Junior Basic Primary Schools. TET Pass is a prerequisite for consideration in the recruitment process against notified vacancies.
Application Fee for TET-2023 (to be paid online):
– General Category: ₹500/-
– OBC-A / OBC-B Category: ₹400/-
– SC/ST/DAC/EC Category: ₹250/-

The online application process will commence on September 14, 2023, at 19:00 hrs and will conclude on October 4, 2023, at 23:59 hrs.
The application fee can be paid until October 5, 2023, at 23:59 hrs.
